Behavioral and Developmental Pediatrics
The behavioral and developmental pediatrics clinic, directed by Dr. Mario Gaspar de Alba, evaluates and treats children with behavioral and developmental problems including attention deficit hyperactivity syndrome, autism, fetal alcohol syndrome and developmental delay.
The clinic is the only one staffed by a board-certified behavioral and developmental pediatrician in Las Vegas.
Dr. Gaspar de Alba attended medical school at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara and went on to complete a Fifth Pathway Program and medical degree from New York Medical College. His internship and residency in pediatrics was completed at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
Following residency he practiced general pediatrics for two years before deciding to continue training at the University of North Carolina in the developmental-behavioral pediatrics fellowship program. As part of his fellowship he also completed training in the University?s Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities Program. Prior to joining the pediatric department he worked as an assistant professor and division chief of the developmental-behavioral pediatrics division at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso, Texas.
He also trains physician residents in behavioral developmental pediatrics at the University of Nevada School of Medicine.
